Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir recently sorted out their differences when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an IPL 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. One of the subplots leading upto the match was a potential faceoff between Kohli and Gambhir, who were infamously involved in an ugly spat when RCB took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an IPL match last year. The spat began with faceoff between Kohli and Naveen ul Haq during that match but later turned out to be Kohli vs Gambhir with the latter getting involved after the match.
All eyes were on the two Delhi cricketers ahead of RCB vs KKR. However, as it turned out, Kohli and Gambhir buried the hatchet with a hug after the RCB vs KKR clash in Bengaluru. Gambhir, who was the mentor of LSG last season, switched to KKR to become their mentor ahead of IPL 2024.
According to Kohli, he feels people would be disappointed with the fact that they sorted the differences which means that they (fans) have lost out on some “masala”.

Kohli and Naveen buried the hatchet during the ODI World Cup last year when India took on Afghanistan. “He (Kohli) told me ’let’s finish it.’ I said yeah let’s finish it. We laughed about it, we hugged and moved on. He also said that after this you won’t hear my name. You will only hear support from the crowd,” Naveen had told LSG in a video that was uploaded last year.
RCB have endured a disappointing start to IPL 2024 with just one win in five matches. They are in ninth place in the standings with two points and take on eighth placed Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday.
