Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have become parents for second time, it was revealed on Tuesday. The star couple had their second child, a baby boy, on 15 February, they announced in a statement. He has been named “Akaay".
“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time,” Kohli and Anushka said in their respective posts on Instagram.
The news of Kohli and Anushka becoming parents for second time brings an end to the speculations and rumours which had been doing the rounds since the former India captain took a decision to miss Team India duties due to personal reasons.
After pulling out of the first two Tests against England, Kohli also decided to miss the remaining three matches of the series amid various rumours that ranged from the couple expecting their second child to Kohli’s mother having health issues .
All this while Kohli maintained silence and brought an end to all the speculations with a statement across social media channels on Tuesday.
Also earlier, Kohli’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB De Villiers in one of his YouTube videos had confirmed that the cricketer was expecting his second child .
