USA vs South Africa preview, T20 World Cup 2024: South Africa take on United States of America in the opening clash of the Super Eight stage in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Antigua on Wednesday. South Africa enter the Super Eight stage with four wins in as many matches and topped Group D with eight points.
USA, meanwhile, are surprise entrants into the Super 8 stage. USA beat Canada by seven wickets in the first match and followed it up with a Super Over victory over Pakistan in their second match. However, the Monank Patel-led side suffered a seven-wicket loss to India in New York, and their qualification to the Super 8 was confirmed after a washed out contest against Ireland in Florida meant that Pakistan were eliminated from the tournament.
Saurabh Netravalkar has been the standout performer for USA, with four wickets. In terms of batting, Aaron Jones leads the batting charts for USA with 141 runs.
South Africa, on the other hand, will hope their batters step up. Their top-order comprising of Reeza Hendricks, Quinton de Kock and skipper Aiden Markram haven’t really fired and have often relied on Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller.
