West Indies are the most joint-most successful T20I side alongside England with two world titles and will hope to add a third later this year. The tournament will also feature as many as 20 teams, making it the biggest cricketing event till date, with Uganda scripting history by qualifying for their first major event. Uganda, however, qualified for the tournament at the expense of Zimbabwe, who had impressed in the 2022 edition in Australia but failed to finish in the top-two at the end of the African qualifying stage.
