Pat Cummins took a hat-trick as Australia restricted Bangladesh to 140/8 in their T20 World Cup Super Eight match in Antigua on Thursday.

The 31-year-old became just the second Australian player and seventh overall to claim a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup match.
Cummins joined compatriot Brett Lee as the only Australian bowlers to take a hat-trick at a T20 World Cup, after the legendary right-armer achieved the feat also against Bangladesh in 2007.
Before Cummins, the others to take a hat-trick in T20 World Cups were Lee (2007), Curtis Campher (2021), Wanindu Hasaranga (2021), Kagiso Rabada (2021), Karthik Meiyappan (2022) and Josh Little (2022).
Cummins dismissed Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan and Towhid Hridoy on three consecutive deliveries, spread across two overs, as Australia produced a disciplined performance to contain Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound.
Cummins, brought into the playing XI, posted figures of 3/29 off four overs with spinner Adam Zampa taking 2/24.
Cummins’ fellow seamer Mitchell Starc, meanwhile, became the most prolific bowler in the history of white ball cricket with his 95th World Cup wicket, including ODI and T20Is, after trapping Tanzid Hasan.
