The inaugural edition of T20 Mumbai League will kick off on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium with Ajinkya Rahane-led North Mumbai Panthers taking on Iqbal Abdulla’s ARCS Andheri at 03:30 pm. Later in the evening, Abhishek Nayar will lead SoBo SuperSonics against Mumbai Northeast Triumph Knights, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav. A total of six teams will slug it out for 11 days, with doubleheaders on each day, except 14 March and 20 March — when only the evening matches are scheduled — and the final on 21 March. The opening ceremony of the event was held on Saturday night in the presence of all teams, league ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, Commissioner Sunil Gavaskar and Chief Mentor Dilip Vengsarkar. The glitzy event witnessed the unveiling of the trophy, besides performances from Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Kriti Sanon and Sidharth Malhotra.
