It’s important to note that for the semi-final to be completed both sides will need to bat a minimum of 10 overs per innings. In the Super 8s and group stage, both sides had to bat a minimum of 5 overs but it has been raised to 10 overs for semi-finals and final.
If the match begins on the scheduled day but has to be halted due to rain, it will resume from that point on reserve day.
Despite all this if the match is washed out then South Africa will qualify for the final as they finished at the top of their Group 2 in Super 8s, while Afghanistan finished behind India in Group 1.
