Veteran Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has once again taken to social media where he shared a cryptic post following his exclusion from the India T20I squad for the series against Australia. After the disappointment of being left out, Chahal shared a photo of himself pointing towards the sky along with a quote: “To hold it together when everyone else thinks otherwise, that’s the true strength of a warrior." Chahal, with an impressive tally of 96 wickets from 50 T20Is, is still India’s highest wicket-taker in this format.

Chahal has returned to domestic cricket, where he has been one of the best performers for Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 clash against Uttarakhand. He delivered a stellar performance, and picked up six wickets in 10 overs and helped bundle out Uttarakhand for just 207. Haryana comfortably secured victory with six wickets in hand, and Chahal was adjudged Player of the Match. India have made a strong start in the T20I series against Australia, winning a thrilling match in Vizag on Thursday. It was a high-scoring encounter that put the bowlers to the test - India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi conceded 54 runs in his four overs. Chahal was also excluded from India’s ODI World Cup squad as the selectors opted for R Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav as the two regular spinners. Ravindra Jadeja was picked as the all-rounder in the squad.
