India completed a 3-0 sweep of the T20I series against Bangladesh in clinical fashion with a 133-run victory in Hyderabad on Saturday. Powered by Sanju Samson's 40-ball century , India nearly became the first Test-playing nation to breach the 300-run barrier in the T20 format as they posted a whopping 297/6 after opting to bat.
Bangladesh could only manage 164/7 in reply after batting out their full quota of overs, going past the 150-mark for the first time in the series.

The Tigers, thus, ended their tour of India on a winless note. Immediately after their historic 2-0 whitewash of Pakistan in Pakistan, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side suffered a sweep by a similar margin at the hands of the Indian team following one-sided defeats in Chennai and Kanpur. They would then surrender the T20I series with losses in Gwalior and Delhi.
Bangladesh’s hopes of collecting a consolation win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday would then quickly evaporate as Samson and skipper Suryakumar Yadav helped India race to 152/1 at the halfway stage of their innings.

More ShortsSamson and Surya lead the way
Both Samson and SKY had failed to cross 30 earlier in the series, and took centre-stage after Abhishek Sharma’s (4) early dismissal after Surya won the toss and decided to bat.
Samson would bring up his half-century in just 22 deliveries, and the next 50 runs in just 18 balls to score the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian after Rohit Sharma (35). He would ultimately be dismissed on 111 off just 47 deliveries, collecting 11 fours and eight sixes along the way to boost his chances of securing a permanent place in India’s T20I squad keeping the 2026 T20 World Cup in mind.
The Rajasthan Royals captain added a massive 173 runs for the second wicket with Surya, who smashed 75 off just 35 balls, bringing up his 21st T20I fifty in just 23 deliveries.
Thanks to whirlwind knocks form Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13), India nearly became the first Test-playing nation and only the second overall after Nepal to score a 300-plus total in the Twenty20 format.
For the Tigers, pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/66. It was a forgettable evening for leg-spinner Rishad Hossain though as he was taken to the cleaners and ended up leaking 46 runs from two wicketless overs, including 30 in his second that was the result of Samson smashing him for five consecutive sixes.
Hridoy, Bishnoi shine with bat and ball respectively
Bangladesh’s hopes of preventing a clean sweep were virtually over after the run-fest in the first innings, and their new objective was to produce a positive batting display and put up some semblance of a fight with the bat.
The visitors were in for another forgettable start after opener Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed in the very first ball of the chase for a golden duck. His opening partner Tanzid Hasan (15) and skipper Shanto (14) would then chip in with valuable contributions to take the Bangladeshis past the half-century mark inside the powerplay.
However, it was the contributions from Towhid Hridoy (63 not out) and Litton Das (42) that went a long way in ensuring Bangladesh crossed the 150-mark for the first time in the series. The pair added 53 for the fourth wicket while keeping the run-rate close to 10-an-over before Das departed after holing out to deep midwicket.
Mahmudullah was the next to depart, collecting 8 off 9 deliveries in what was his final T20I appearance while Mahedi Hasan (3) and Rishad (0) departed shortly after without making much of an impact.

Hridoy remained unbeaten on 63 off 42 balls, collecting five fours and three sixes along the way as Bangladesh finished on 164/7 after 20 overs.
For India, leg-spinne Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/30 in what was his first appearance in this series, which came at the expense of pacer Arshdeep Singh. Express pacer Mayank Yadav (2/32) chipped in with a couple of wickets while Washington Sundar and local lad Nitish Kumar Reddy collected one each.
