S Sreesanth in trouble over Gautam Gambhir ‘fixer’ remarks with Legends League Cricket issuing legal notice

Former India pacer S Sreesanth has landed in trouble over his claims of Gautam Gambhir calling him a “fixer” with the Legends League Cricket (LLC) issuing him a legal notice for breach of contract on Friday. According to report, the LLC commissioner has also asked the former India pacer to take down videos on social networking platform Instagram in which he made the sensational claims, only after which would they be willing to initiate a dialogue. Additionally, the notice from the LLC made it clear that the report submitted by the umpires after the Eliminator, which the Capitals won by 12 runs, made no mention of Gambhir using the “fixer” term during the game. Former India teammates Sreesanth and Gambhir represent the Giants and Capitals respectively in the league that features retired cricketers. “Just want to say this, he kept on calling me on live television, on centre wicket, I’ve not used a single bad word. I’ve not used a single abuse to him. I’ve only said ‘what are you saying? what are you saying?’ and I kept laughing in a sarcastic way because he kept calling me a fixer, fixer, fixer. You’re a fixer. “Forgive my language but f*** off! F*** off fixer! This is the language he used and he told the umpires also the same thing when they were trying to control him. I moved away but he kept on calling me the same thing again and again,” Sreesanth revealed in the clip that has since gone viral. This is not the first time Gambhir, who was part of the title-winning India squads in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup, has found himself in trouble over on-field confrontations. The former Kolkata Knight Riders captain has had a long-running feud with Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi which began in an ODI in Kanpur in 2007. He has also had on-field spats with former India and Delhi teammate Virat Kohli, the most recent of which took place in Lucknow during this year’s Indian Premier League.
