Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, IPL 2024 Match 19 Toss Report: Rajasthan Royals won the toss, and skipper Sanju Samson opted to field in their 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Saturday.

While the Royals opted to stick with the same XI that helped them thrash Mumbai Indians convincingly at the Wankhede Stadium, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis announced one change for his side — uncapped Saurav Chauhan making his debut in the Indian Premier League.

The Royals are one of only two remaining undefeated teams in IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders being the other, having defeated Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals at home in their first two outings of the season before thrashing MI in Mumbai.

RCB, meanwhile, are off to a poor start this season, losing three out of four matches and finding themselves at the eighth spot on the 10-team points table. Their only win of the season so far came in the form of a four-wicket victory over Punjab Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in their second match of the season.

Teams:

Rajasthan Royals: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (wj/c), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Nandre Burger, Yuzvendra Chahal

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Saurav Chauhan, Reece Topley, Mayank Dagar, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal

Captain speak:

Sanju Samson, RR: We would like to bowl first on this wicket. Something to do with the opposition, it’s a fresh wicket, expecting some help for the seamers and expecting some dew as well. It’s a long season, people are taking responsibility and finishing games. We are going in with the same team.

Faf du Plessis, RCB: We were thinking of the same, it looks a good wicket, think it will remain the same in both the innings. We have one change in our batting line-up (Chauhan). For me it’s just a case of trusting our guys. We have been inconsistent, we get an opportunity to do things better. We are trying to find the roles for the players, we are looking for that. That hasn’t worked as yet. We haven’t delivered. Not many people know him, he has some serious amount of skill and batting power, looks like a nice and calm guy.
