Rohit Sharma’s childhood coach, Dinesh Lad has revealed an interesting conversation that he had with the now Team India skipper a long time back. Lad reminisced about an incident where they saw a luxurious Mercedes car on the road after Rohit was just selected for Mumbai’s Under-19 team. The then talented young batter had expressed his desire to own such a car, despite Lad’s attempt to convey the vehicle’s high cost. Rohit, however, assured his coach that he own such a car and fulfill his dream one day.
“Once Rohit and I saw a Mercedes car, he said, ‘Sir, I will buy this car one day.’ I told him, ‘Are you mad? These are too expensive.’ But he said, ‘You see, I will buy it,” Lad said to SRG Sports, as per Sportskeeda.

Rohit is now a proud owner of a host of luxury cars, including a Mercedes - the very car he once wished to purchase. Rohit recently led India to an emphatic Test series win over England.
After an unimpressive couple of outings with the bat, the India captain roared back with a timely ton in the Rajkot Test that put India on top. He failed in the first innings in Ranchi, but then stood tall in the second, displaying his class with a resilient half-century. He scored 55 runs off 81 balls and his knock played a key role in India’s successful run chase.
India succeeded in chasing the 192-run target to win the game and claim an unassailable lead in the five-match Test series.

The India captain was all praise for the youngsters who came into the squad and showed their resilience during different phases of the match.
“Clearly tells me that they want to be here (on youngster). All the hard work that they have done in the past, in the growing-up years, coming through the whole circuit of playing domestic cricket, playing the local club cricket and performing there, and then coming here. Obviously it’s a big challenge to play Test cricket. We all know that. But these guys, when I look at them, when I talk to them, the responses that I get from them is quite encouraging,” Rohit said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Rohit will now be keen to exert the dominance in the upcoming fifth Test, scheduled to start on 7 March at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
