Rishabh Pant has reportedly been declared fit for the second India-New Zealand Test match which will be played in Pune from 24 October. There were fears over his availability after Pant suffered a knee injury in the first Test in Bengaluru which India lost by 8 wickets.
A report in the Indian Express says that Pant has been declared fit to play the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium.

He received the injury on Day 2 of the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium when the 27-year-old was hit on the right knee by the ball. The right leg is the same leg on which he had surgery after suffering a car accident in December 2022.
Pant braves pain in Bengaluru
Despite this, Pant came out to bat in the second innings and scored a swashbuckling 99. However, he was seen limping at times while running between the wickets and it has also been reported that Pant played the knock with the help of injections.

The keeping in the first Test was done by Dhruv Jurel when Pant was not available.
Captain Rohit wants to play safe with Pant
Speaking on Pant’s injury, India captain Rohit Sharma, after the first Test match, said that the team would not want to rush the wicketkeeper-batter .

So, it’s just about being extra careful, not careful with him. Even when he was batting, he was not comfortably running. He was trying to only put the ball in the stands.”
