Star players of the Indian cricket team continued to have a horror outing in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 matches as Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant were dismissed cheaply once again on Friday. Ravindra Jadeja, however, was one of the lone bright spots as the all-rounder enjoyed another successful day.
The centrally contracted players, especially the likes of Rohit, are making a rare appearance in Ranji Trophy due to a new BCCI diktat which has made participation in domestic cricket mandatory for national selection.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal fail to fire again
India captain Rohit Sharma, who scored just 31 runs in five innings during the 3-1 loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy , scored three runs from 19 deliveries in Mumbai’s first innings against Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday. On Friday, he made 28 off 35 balls before perishing to Yudhvir Singh.
His knock of 28 included two fours and three sixes, giving some entertainment to the crowd present at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai. Rohit, however, got out after Abid Mushtaq caught his lofted flick at the short mid-wicket.
