Musheer Khan broke a record of cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar by hitting a century on Tuesday in the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium. At the age of 19 years and 14 days, Musheer has become the youngest Mumbai batter to hit a century in Ranji Trophy final, breaking the record of Tendulkar, who scripted the feat at the age of 21 against Punjab in 1994-95.
In the 1994-95 final, Tendulkar had scored two centuries (140 and 139) as Mumbai won the trophy.
Musheer, who is the younger brother of India batter Sarfaraz Khan, has also put Mumbai in a strong position in the ongoing final with his century. Mumbai were 332/4 in their second innings at the time of publishing this report and lead Vidarbha by over 45o runs.
In the first innings, Mumbai had made 224 before dismissing Vidarbha for just 105.
