Mitchell Starc finally got his first wicket of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season during Delhi Capitals’ (DC) run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. Prior to this, Starc had endured figures of 0/100 across the two previous matches combined. However, the Australia speedster finally justified his price tag pf Rs 24.75 crore with a fine spell against DC in Vizag. Starc finished with figures of 2/25 from three overs, having taken the wickets of fellow Aussies Mitchell Marsh and David Warner.
While Marsh was caught by Ramandeep Singh at cover point, Warner was clean bowled by Starc in the fifth over as DC lost four wickets in the powerplay phase.
It was a length ball from Starc to Warner, and the latter, looking to play the cut, ended up getting a thick inside edge before chopping onto the stumps. Warner was eventually dismissed for 18.
