He had also taken five wickets in the first innings as Manipur clinched a 10-wicket win. While five of Arunachal batsmen were cleaned up by Rex, two were trapped lbw, two caught behind and one caught by the fielder. Rex also made his first-class debut earlier this season for Manipur in the Ranji Trophy against Sikkim.
With the 10-wicket haul, Rex equalled the feat of Indian bowlers like Subhash Gupte, Premangsu Mohan Chatterjee, Pradeep Sundaram, Debashish Mohanty and Sidak Singh, who had also taken 10-wicket hauls in an innings in the domestic circuit. Only two bowlers have achieved the feat at the international level, Australia’s Jim Laker and former India captain Anil Kumble.
