Former India cricketer Yograj Singh recently revealed during an interview that he had gone to the legendary Kapil Dev’s house with a pistol with the aim of killing the World Cup-winning skipper. Yograj, father of former cricketer Yuvraj, had said that he made the decision to do so after he was dropped from the North Zone team by Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi due to team politics.

He also revealed that he was hurt by the omission and wanted to quit playing cricket. Kapil Dev was asked regarding the incident by a few reporters, but Kapil remained calm and just asked the reporters, “Kaun hai? Kiski baat kar rahe ho? (Who? Who are you asking about?)." When the reporters said that Yograj is Yuvraj’s father, Kapil ignored to answer the question and walked away.
“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason,” Yograj had said on the Unfiltered by Samdish show on YouTube. He said that he did not eventually kill Kapil Dev because the latter’s mother was also present.
“My wife (Yuvi’s mother) wanted me to ask Kapil questions. I told her that I would teach this bloody man a lesson. I took my pistol out, I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend and what you have done, you will pay for it.
“I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go.’,” said Yograj. Yograj Singh also claimed that he had taken a dig at Kapil Dev after India’s title triumph at the 2011 ODI World Cup. Yogral said that while his son Yuvraj became a World Cup champion, he reminded Kapil that he does not have a son.
