There’s no limit to MS Dhoni fandom and every stadium in IPL 2024 so far has turned into a Chennai Super Kings den whenever the former India captain visited it. And it was no different on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad as Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted CSK for a league game. The orange bucket seats at the stadium was overshadowed by the huge number of yellow jerseys in the crowd and the support and love for Dhoni in the stadium reached a crescendo when Dhoni came out to bat in the final over of CSK’s innings.

Dhoni was only at the crease for two deliveries and scored just one run but those few minutes were probably the most electrically charged moments in the match. The IPL organisers have now packaged all the emotions and fan moments in a video which has been shared on their official X account.

In the video, some SRH players could also be seen playing tribute to Dhoni.

“He’s going down as a legend, especially in this country,” said SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen.

“Yeah, he’s still got it. He’s still the legend,” pointed out Aiden Markram.

India bowler and domestic cricket giant Jaydev Unadkat reserved big praise for his former captain.

“There’s no point denying the fact that everyone is a MS Dhoni fan. That man has got aura behind him. He’s a crowd pleaser and everyone loves him including myself and everyone in the country. What he has done for the country is absolutely invaluable,” he said.

Coming to the match.

CSK batted first but only managed 165/5 on a slow wicket with Shivam Dube top-scoring with 45 off 24 balls.

In reply, SRH completed the chase with 11 balls remaining as Abhishek Sharma smashed 37 off just 12 balls and Markram scored 50 off 36.
