IPL Auctions 2024: Rajasthan Royals retained players, current squad, purse amount, remaining slots

The Rajasthan Royals, who had won the inaugural edition in 2008 and finished runners-up 14 years later, have largely retained their core heading into the player auction that will take place in Dubai on 19 December. That includes the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Prasidh Krishna, Jos Buttler, Trent Boult among others besides skipper Sanju Samson himself. Senior England batter Joe Root had indicated his decision to pull out of the 2024 season after having remained on the bench throughout the 2023 season, and he was among the nine players released by the Royals on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether the Royals pursue him in next month’s auction or not.
