IPL 2024 Auction LIVE: The big day for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is here. Even if it’s a mini-player auction, the importance of it makes it mega and the anticipation for the event is as exciting as ever. The IPL keeps growing big in popularity and brand value and every year it keeps getting even more competitive. The teams must continue to rebuild and for that having a good auction is of utmost importance. This time we have many new things to look forward to at the auction. Hardik Pandya has been made Mumbai Indians captain instead of Rohit Sharma and it will be interesting to see how this changes MI’s approach in the auction. Gautam Gambhir is back with Kolkata Knight Riders. He won two IPL titles with them as a captain and will now be the team’s mentor. He will have the responsibility to lead the squad reset at KKR. Also, for the first time, the IPL Auction will be taking place outside India, at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, on 19 December (Tuesday). It is expected to start at 1 PM IST and we will have teams fighting it out to fill a maximum of 77 slots including 30 for overseas players. A total of 332 players have registered for the IPL 2024 Auction including 214 Indians and 119 overseas cricketers of which two are from Associate Nations. There are a total of 116 capped players, 215 uncapped players and two are from Associate Nations. 333 players had registered for the auction originally but it has been reported that Bangalesh’s Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam have pulled out. ECB has pulled out Rehan Ahmed. Kaushal Tambe and Sahil Dhiwan have been added. Here’s a full team-wise list of slots and purse available:
