The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start on March 22 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the home ground of the defending champions, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The schedule for the tournament was released last month. Dates of the first 21 matches have been announced keeping in mind India’s General Elections. Once the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gets clarity from the Election Commission of India, the schedule for the rest of the season will also be announced.
The first two weeks will be about non-stop games and it also has four double-headers scheduled on weekends, ensuring that all 10 teams take the field in the first week itself.
The Delhi Capitals will play two home games at Visakhapatnam’s ACA-VDCA Stadium owing to the ongoing preparations for the Women’s Premier League final at their usual Delhi venue.

The IPL 2024 season will start from March 22 with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore facing each other in the opening contest.
