IPL 2024 Retention Day Live: The IPL 2024 trading window comes to an end by 4 PM IST on 26 November 2023. This means the final list of retained and released players per franchise will be finalised by Sunday evening. The remaining purse of teams for the IPL 2024 mini-auction depends on what teams do in the trading window and how many players they retain. In the trading window, franchises can swap players or execute all-cash deals to buy a player. The deals, however, need to get approval from the IPL governing council. A player has to agree to be traded and ‘icon’ players cannot be traded. Once the trading window deadline ends at 4 PM IST on Sunday then the final list of retained players for each franchise will be out. This will also determine the purse available for each team. Some big trades have already taken place. Romario Shepherd (Rs50 lakh) was first to bbe traded to Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants. Later, Devdutt Padikkal (Rs 7.5 crore) moved to Lucknow Super Giants from Rajasthan Royals, and Avesh Khan (Rs10 crore) joined Rajasthan Royals from Lucknow Super Giants. It has also been rumoured that Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya will be joining his former franchise Mumbai Indians, while Prthivi Shawa is set to be retained by Delhi Capitals. All-rounder Shardul Thakur, however, is on the verge of being released by Kolkata Knight Riders. IPL Auction 2024 is set to take place on 19 December in Dubai.

Shahbaz joins SRH, Dagar off to RCB
All-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has been traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad while Mayank Dagar goes to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in an exchange of sorts between the two franchises. Both bowl left-arm finger spin and are handy with the bat, with Shahbaz the proper all-rounder of the two, making them a near like-for-like swap.
LSG prepares for big changes
According to one report, LSG’s new coach Justin Langer wants Lucknow Super Giant to release eight to nine players. Few of the players who can go out are Manan Vohra, Suryansh Shedge, Karan Sharma and Swapnil Singh. Already former mentor Gautam Gambhir has moved to KKR.

R Ashwin reacts to Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians news
“If it’s true Mumbai Indians have struck gold. So if it’s true and it’s a complete cash deal from whatever I read. There’s no player that Mumbai is giving, Mumbai Indians have never given players on trade. I don’t think it has happened ever. But how does that XI look like if Hardik goes back who’s an MI grown player,” Ashwin said.
“There’s three times when a captain has been traded. One, yours truly, no. 2 Ajinkya Rahane and now Hardik Pandya,” Ashwin pointed out some facts.
Shami becomes saviour
Here’s a story of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami saving a car accident victim’s life in Nainital. Shami pulled out the accident victim from the car just in time. He later shared the ordeal on Instagram. **_Here's the full story._**

Sunrisers Hyderabad are looking to release Harry Brooks, who was bought for Rs 13.25 crore
Punjab Kings are set to release Sam Curran. He is the most expensive IPL player of all time with a price tag of Rs 18.5 crore
Confirmed IPL Trades so far:
Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants
Devdutt Padikkal to Lucknow Super Giants from Rajasthan Royals
Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals from Lucknow Super Giants
Shahbaz Ahmed to Sunrisers Hyderabad from Royal Challengers Bangalore
Mayank Dagar to Royal Challengers Bangalore from Sunrisers Hyderabad
IPL Trade Rumours
Another rumour that is doing the round is that Delhi Capitals have released Sarfaraz Khan and Manish Pandey ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction
ABD predicts Hardik’s future at MI
AB de Villiers feels that Hardik Pandya will captain Mumbai Indians instead of Rohit Sharma. Hardik won IPL in 2022 with Gujarat Titans, but Rohit has won five IPL titles with MI.
“I am not sure what happened there but it looks like he is heading back to Mumbai. I think it’s going to cost them a bit. I mean Rohit is the captain, we know he loves leading from the front. Will he step down and let Hardik lead, because he has got the big weight of Team India and captaining there,” De Villiers said.
“I have got a funny feeling Rohit is going to let him (Hardik) captain and take over the reins. Rohit carries a lot of pressure by captaining Team India as well. Maybe that is going to be the move.”
Pretorius leaves CSK
CONFIRMED: Bowling all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has confirmed on Instagram that he will not be part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.
“Thank you CSK. I would like to thank all the management, coaches, players, and fans for my time at CSK it was an awesome experience. All the best for season 2024,” he wrote on Instagram.
Hardik Pandya trade to Mumbai Indians
With top media houses reporting Hardik Pandya’s trade from GT to Mumbai Indians, the news confirmation only looks like a formality. If it doesn’t get confirmed before 4 PM IST then it will be at the end of the deadline as teams have to give their final list of players retained and traded.
Ben Stokes pulls out of IPL 2024 to manage workload
No Stokes in IPL 2024 for CSK.
“England Test captain, all-rounder Ben Stokes has made himself unavailable for IPL 2024 to manage his workload and fitness,” CSK said. “Stokes, 32, became a part of the Super Kings ahead of the successful IPL 2023.
“He recently participated in the ODI World Cup 2023, which he came out of retirement for.
“The Chennai Super Kings management is supportive of Ben in his decision to manage his workload with England playing a 5-Test series in India before the IPL and then the T20 World Cup in June 2024.”
RR director of cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, explains Joe Root’s decision to opt out of IPL 2024:
“During our retention conversations, Joe informed us of his decision to not take part in IPL 2024. Even in a short span of time, Joe was able to create such a positive impact on the franchise and the players around him. His energy around the group and the experience he brought to the Royals will be missed. We respect his decision totally and wish him success in everything he does.”
