The Indian Premier League (IPL) contest between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Jaipur on Sunday was halted after the spidercam broke down and stopped working for a brief period. The incident happened just after two deliveries of the RR innings were bowled. The spidercam’s wire fell down onto the outfield and the engineers quickly came out to the field to remove the wire from the ground. Rohan Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box that time, could be heard saying: “Spidercam has snapped and come down.”
Play resumed soon after the wires were cleared. Rajasthan Royals, who won the toss and opted to bat, however lost Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the powerplay but Sanju Samson led the Royals’ recovery with an unbeaten 82. Samson’s knock took the Royals to 193/4.
