Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in a one-sided IPL final on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to win their third title. After winning the IPL in 2012 and 2014, KKR brought an end to their long 10-year wait with a comprehensive performance in which they bowled out SRH for just 113 and completed the chase with 9.3 overs to go.
KKR were rewarded a cash prize of Rs 20 crore for winning the IPL 2024 title while runners-up SRH took home Rs 12.5 crore.
Rajasthan Royals will get Rs 7 crore for finishing third while Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be rewarded Rs 6.5 crore as they finished fourth.
Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners
The Orange Cap went to Virat for scoring 741 runs and Harshal Patel won the Purple Cap by taking 24 wickets. They both were awarded cash prizes of Rs 10 lakh each.
The Emerging Player of the Tournament Nitish Kumar Reddy also earned Rs 10 lakh.
