Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2024 Auction: Full list of players bought by KKR, complete squad

Kolkata Knight Riders are among the franchises who have tasted success in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having won the prestigious tournament in 2012 and 2014 — both under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership. KKR, however, will know that it has been a while since they tasted silverware, coming within touching distance in 2021 only to fall short against Chennai Super Kings in the final. And they will hope to end a decade-long wait for a third trophy heading into IPL 2024. The Knight Riders had made a couple of big moves ahead of the auction, bringing Gambhir back into the franchise — this time as a mentor following his stint with Lucknow Super Giants in a similar capacity. Shreyas Iyer also returns as captain next season after missing out this year due to a back injury. They also released as many as 12 players into the auction pool, including India all-rounder Shardul Thakur along with international stars such as Shakib Al Hasan, Lockie Ferguson among others, leaving them Rs 32.7 crore in their purse along with 12 vacant slots (four overseas).
