the official communication went from the BCCI office to the venue (Narendra Modi Stadium) and local organisers (Gujarat Cricket Association) with the notification of the game being postponed. The revised date will be released later.
According to the PTI, two members of the squad have tested positive but they are waiting for the second test reports for confirmation. “Two members of the contingent have tested positive for COVID but we are waiting for their second test reports to avoid the false positive scenario that happened with Anrich Nortje of Delhi Capitals earlier,” a source said on conditions of anonymity. ANI’s report states that the two players who tested positive for COVID-19 are Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier. There is no official word from either teams or the IPL so far.
