Rohit Sharma: Been doing some slip catching for a while. I can hear Virat there laughing. There will be catches coming your way, and it’s important to hold on to them. Not easy to read his hands, but when you play him in the nets, it’s easy to understand when he’s going to bowl the googly. Very clinical, right from the start. (On partnership with Rayudu) After losing two wickets, I mentioned this early, it was a game-changing partnership. It allowed us to stay in the game for longer. Really happy to see a dominating performance from the bowlers.

Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match for his dazzling 162 off 137, as well as three sharp catches at slip.

Virat Kohli, India captain: Ticked all the boxes. Very clinical in all departments. Got into rhythm. We are known to bounce back and it was another example. Absolutely, Rayudu has taken the opportunity with both hands. We need to back him till the World Cup. Very smart and intelligent cricketer, who reads the game well. Khaleel is a exciting cricketer. He was pitching in the right areas and when there is something in the surface, he can make the ball talk, swinging it both ways.

Jason Holder, West Indies skipper: Well we didn’t play well. Application definitely wasn’t there. (On quick wickets) Two of our better players upfront. Set us back. (On batting up the order) Been obviously hearing it for a while. So in the next game we’ll see it.

Khaleel Ahmed:  I had it in my mind that because it is a day/night game there will be moisture in the wicket and I will be able to swing it. I am working on my skills with bowling coach Bharat Arun. I had planned Samuels’ dismissal as I was getting some inswing and I kept bringing it back in before I bowled the outswinger that gave me the wicket. I get confidence by appealing, because I know it will put pressure on the batsman.

Done and dusted. Windies never looked dominating in the game. Not even once. It was India all the way. Right from the start. Disappointing effort from the visitors, who played their heart out in the last ODI.

India are rolling back again on the corridors of victory. Should have ended it way, way earlier but the lower order made sure the game stretched a bit.

India lead series 2-1. They can’t lose this one now.

Big leg before shout off the first ball against Holder, but umpire Anil Choudhary gave the right decision with the ball sliding down the leg side. Bumrah does trouble Roach with the ball continuing skid off the surface. Two off the over.

Single off the first ball of Jadeja’s over that brings up the half-century for Windies captain. Roach defends the rest of the over calmly with Jadeja trying to invite the false stroke as he kept flighting the ball

FIFTY! Jason Holder stands tall to raise his seventh half-century in ODI cricket. He continues to be an anomaly with the bat for the Windies, providing some sense of fight for his team. Very good innings.

Bumrah brought back to wrap things up, but Holder and Roach manage to play it out. Roach was well aware of the yorker been used at some point in the over and his alertness allows him to dig the ball out from the blockhole, giving Holder another chance to bring up his fifty.

SIX! Paul gets it right this time! Kuldeep had his line correct as far as he had to aim the stumps, but the length was horribly wrong. Paul muscles it over cow corner for six.

In between overs, Nurse gulps down couple of painkillers (no pun intended there). Jadeja has been brought back into the attack. Helmet-less Holder plays a few aerial shots to take Windies past the 100-run mark.

Just three wickets India away from victory. Holder and Nurse playing the waiting game literally. They are playing in the moment and not looking at the target at all. Alright, so short spell rotation not only restricted to fast bowlers, Kohli deploying the same plan of action for spinners as well. Kuldeep is brought into the attack, replacing Jaddu. Almost has a wicket off his second ball, with Holder going for a big drive to a flighted delivery outside off, gets an inside edge that goes past his stumps. He didn’t have to wait long for a wicket as three balls later he got rid of Fabian Allen. Ashley Nurse walks in at number nine.

Fabian Allen misreads the googly, like so many of his countrymen have done during their tour and not many cricketers around the globe has had issues picking Kuldeep up, especially when they are relatively new against the left-arm wrist spinner. Tossed up delivery on off stump, going away, Allen playing inside the line of the ball, gets an outside edge to first slip, where Rohit clings on to a smart catch.

Kohli opting for a different strategy today. Four over spells for his fast bowler as Ahmed is replaced by Bumrah after bowling his first spell that yielded him three wickets. Perhaps not straining his pacers in the heat and with the outcome of the match heavily tilted in their favour. Allen collects his first boundary off the innings as Bumrah’s fist over of a new spell goes for seven.

Good start for Jadeja. Just two runs conceded. Samuels collected a single with a drive through cover followed by single for Powell in the mid-wicket region.

Excellent first over from Khaleel. He found the outside edge of Hetmyer on the first ball but it fell short of Dhoni followed by a double and then on the third delivery got him out LBW. Two runs off it.

West Indies going nowhere. Wickets keep on tumbling. They have lost two in run out. You cannot afford to do that when you are chasing 378.

Khaleel has got himself a wicket here in the very first over and he almost hurt Jadeja while celebrating aggressively. Kohli is now cheering the crowd up like he usually does when the team is at the top.

Nine runs from the over as Hetmyer gets in his groove. A single from Samuels is followed by two fours from Hetmyer. One on the off through cover and another through mid-wicket in the leg.

Another run out for Windies and they are now three down chasing the mammoth total. The confusion between Samuels and Powell led to the removal of the opener followed by a single towards third man for Samuels and a double for Hetmyer towards mid-wicket.

OUT! Another great fielding effort helps India remove Powell. Samuels played a defensive shot which was followed by a confusion between him and Powell, who had set off for a single. Kohli was quick to reach the ball and flick to the stumps while Powell was too far to return back in time.

Just the over Bhuvi needed. A maiden with two wickets as result of two great fielding efforts. First Rayudu timed his jump perfectly to catch Hemraj’s lofted drive at cover and then Kuldeep hit the stumps with a direct throw to remove Hope.

India get their two breakthroughs in one over and more importantly one of them has fallen in kitty of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He has looked below par in this series and would want some luck to go his way. Right away, Bhuvi starts landing ball on the good length.

Windies hopes are dented now after the run out of Hope who was in one hell of a form at the moment. Getting more tougher now for visitors.

Maiden over for Bumrah but India have lost their review. Bumrah managed to get one past the gap between pad and bat, there was some noise but the umpire gave it not out as Indian reviewed. Replays showed there was some noise but that of hitting the thigh.

Just a single from the over. Hemraj nudges Bumrah to mid-wicket on the third ball to take a single, which was followed by an appeal for LBW as Powell tried to play a pull but inside edge saved him.

India could not touch the 400 run mark but this is still a big score. 378 is a massive target to chase for Windies who looked lackluster to Sharma for them? They can only HOPE.

Eight runs from the over. Bhuvi found the leading edge of Hemraj on the third ball but it fell just short of Kohli at cover. Rohit Sharma (162 off 137 balls): (On expectations of crossing 200 everytime he brings up a century) That’s a lot of expectations. We wanted to post a good target, because a batting line up like West Indies, they play unpredictable cricket. CCI is a high-scoring ground, and I don’t know what’s the par score here. We never understood what will be the ideal target. Grown up playing cricket in Mumbai, and more so in CCI, understand the pace and bounce here. I wasn’t trying to hit too hard. We know the runs will come here once you’re set. Once you cross hundred, it’s you making a mistake and getting out. I kept telling myself: I just need to do as the pitch is good, and not play any extravagant shot. The only aim is to see how far I go and to ensure the team gets into a good position.

Dhoni, who gets struck on his left wrist while collecting a quick single, gets a spray on the affected area from physio Patrick Farhart. Back-to-back boundaries off the last two balls.
