Team India progressed to their third T20 World Cup final with a commanding 68-run win over defending champions England in the second semi-final in Guyana on Thursday. This is also India’s first final in a T20 World Cup in 10 years as they aim to clinch their first ICC title since 2013.

The start of the match against England had been delayed due to rain and later a wet outfield by more than two hours. England won the delayed toss and asked India to bat first. The Men in Blue lost Virat Kohli in the third over after Reece Topley cleaned him up, but Rohit Sharma (57) and Suryakumar Yadav (47) led the team’s recovery with a 73-run partnership to take them to 171/7.

Spinners dictated the terms in England’s reply, with both Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav picking three wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah also chipped in with two wickets as England were all out for 103 in 16.4 overs.
South Africa, on the other hand, are into their first-ever T20 World Cup final and did so with a thumping nine-wicket win over Afghanistan in the first semi-final in Trinidad. Afghanistan were all out for 56 after they opted to bat first and the Proteas comfortably aced the chase in 8.5 overs, with Reeza Hendricks (29*) and Aiden Markram (23*) staying unbeaten.
