India vs Pakistan, World Cup 2023: PCB chief Zaka Ashraf gives pep talk to players ahead of marquee clash

Ahead of their marquee contest against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf gave a pep talk to the team on Friday. World Cup 2023: News | Schedule | Results | Points table According to news agency PTI, Zaka had some words of motivation to the players during a meeting that was also attended by head coach Grant Bradburn, PCB director of cricket Mickey Arthur and skipper Babar Azam. Pakistan have clinched two wins in the two matches they have played in the World Cup so far. While Pakistan beat Netherlands by 81 runs, a fine century from Mohammad Rizwan helped the Men in Green get the better of Sri Lanka in their second game.

India, meanwhile, defeated Australia by six wickets, before Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli helped them ease past Afghanistan in their second match. India (NRR +1.500) and Paskistan (+0.927) are third and fourth in the standings with four points each, and only the Net Run Rate separating the two sides. According to PTI, the BCCI would also be hosting a dinner for Ashraf on Friday night in Ahmedabad, with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and other board officials also attending it.
