India vs Pakistan, World Cup 2023: Hotel prices in Ahmedabad surge ahead of marquee clash

Ahead of the India vs Pakistan World Cup clash, the rate for a base category room in a five-star hotel in Ahmedabad has increased to Rs 50,000 per night. On a normal day, the rates would be between Rs 6,500 and 10,500.

Ahead of the much-awaited 2023 World Cup clash between India and Pakistan, hotel prices in Ahmedabad have shot up exponentially by over ten times when compared to the normal fares. World Cup 2023: News | Schedule | Results | Points table According to a report in Editorji, the rate for a base category room in a five-star hotel in Ahmedabad has increased to Rs 50,000 per night. On a normal day, the rates would be between Rs 6,500 and 10,500. As far as luxurious hotels are concerned, prices have skyrocketed to Rs 40,000 to Rs 100,000 from a rate of Rs 5,000-Rs 8,000 per room. However, fans seem to have found alternatives to beat the surge pricing. While there are a couple of affordable options in Airbnb, with ‘modern room in a Food Forward flat with 2 beds’ offering Rs 1128, a private room with a bathroom for Rs 5706 and a bed in a ‘House of Kids’ for Rs 6847.

There is also a critical care doctor offering an eight-bedroom property with 20 beds for Rs 17,599. Both India and Pakistan are unbeaten after two matches in the World Cup. While India beat Australia and Afghanistan, Pakistan got the better of Netherlands and Sri Lanka. India and Pakistan are currently third and fourth in the points table. The match takes place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
