India restricted Pakistan to 113/7 after 20 overs after posting a sub-par 119 in their first innings, resulting in the Men in Blue collecting their second win in as many meetings in the ongoing ICC World Cup.

Led by an inspiration performance from their bowling unit, India defeated Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller in New York on Sunday to collect their second victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup and inch closer to a place in the Super 8s.
The match was off to a delayed start due to morning showers in New York, with play commencing 50 minutes after the scheduled start time at the Nassau County International Stadium.

The Men in Blue had collapsed like a house of cards, losing their last seven wickets for 30 runs to get bowled out for 119 after Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field. Had it not been for Rishabh Pant’s 42 off 31 balls, India might have struggled to even cross 100.

Pakistan, in reply, were cruising at 73/2 at one stage before the dismissals of Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan brought the Indians back into the contest. Jasprit Bumrah had drawn first blood for the Indians by dismissing Babar and later castled Rizwan that proved to be the turning point of the match. He would later be adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding figures of 3/14 from four overs.

Things would go from bad to worse for the 2022 runners-up as the boundaries rapidly dried up and the asking rate climbed at an alarming rate. Pakistan simply were unable to shift gears in the death overs and ended up falling six short of the Indian total despite having three wickets in hand after the last ball was bowled.
