India vs Pakistan LIVE Updates

It’s official: Play has been called off for the day due to rain in Colombo. Torrential rain in Colombo meant that the match had to be postponed to a reserve day on Monday, with the India vs Pakistan match being the only one to have a reserve day.

India will pick up from where they left off on the reserve day. The Men in Blue were 147/2 from 24.1 overs and they will resume from that point. Also, the match will still be a 50-over affair.

KL Rahul opened up on his thigh injury, the period of uncertainty, recovery at the NCA and the mental concerns caused as a wicketkeeper.

“I got injured while trying to chase a ball and my tendon snapped. I had a full-fledged tear, my tendon ripped apart from my quadricep. So when it happened, I was obviously me, my family, the franchise, the team, everybody had their fingers crossed hoping that wasn’t a big tear, it was a small strain or I could get better in a couple of weeks,” he recalled.

India vs Pakistan LIVE Score and Updates, Asia Cup 2023: India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in their second game of Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In Round 1, which was played in Group A, there was no result as the match was washed out by rain. The Round 2 of India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 is also the Men in Blue’s first Super Four match. Pakistan started their Super Four campaign with a win over Bangladesh. In the group game against Pakistan, India batted first and were bowled out for 266 before rain washed out the game without a Pakistan chase. India at the very start of their innings were jolted by Shaheen Afridi who cleaned up Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and took four wickets in total. In fact, all 10 Indian wickets went to the pacers; Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, a first in the Asia Cup. The Pakistan pacers will once again be India’s biggest challenge going into the Super Four opener. India’s opener pointed out before the game that the lack of familiarity with Pakistan bowling is a problem for India. “When you are playing at this level, you play left-armer pacers previously at some point of your career. We do not play Pakistan that much as compared to the other sides. They have a quality bowling attack. When you do not face such a bowling attack frequently and are not used to it, it makes a difference,” Gill said at the pre-match press conference in Colombo on Saturday. If the batters can successfully deal with the Pakistan pacers then there’s little to stop them from winning the match. Meanwhile, there’s also a possibility of KL Rahul making a return to the side. He missed the first game due to a niggle as Ishan Kishan slotted in at No 5 and scored a valiant 82. But Rahul is the team’s designated wicketkeeper-batter and in case he is 100% fit then he should make a return to Team India’s lineup. Jasprit Bumrah will also return after missing the Nepal game. He had travelled back to India to attend the birth of his first child. Match timings and LIVE streaming: The match will start at 3 PM IST and will be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network with LIVE streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
