After being active for close to 18 years at the international cricket — battling form, injuries, competition from players half his age, Ashish Nehra finally decided to end it once and for all on Wednesday, in front of his home crowd at Feroz Shah Kotla against New Zealand. AP[/caption] Although Nehra managed to push his injury-prone body for close to two decades, those injuries ensured Nehra was never quite able to fulfil his potential for his country, particularly in the longest format, where he ended up appearing in one Test fewer than the number of years he was active as an international cricketer. Nehra signs off as a player who somehow defied everyone with his determination to be as relevant in 2017 as he was when he first started as a youngster in 1999.
