India vs England: Shubman Gill ends seven-year wait for century at No. 3 in India

Shubman Gill ended his 13-inning and nearly year-long wait for half a century in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. He then went on to convert that into a century to expand India’s lead over the visitors on the third day’s play. LIVE | India vs England 2nd Test Day 3 Gill, 24, now has 10 international centuries across formats - six in 50-overs, three in Test matches and one in T20 cricket. His previous two centuries in Test cricket came against Bangladesh (110 in December 2022) and Australia (128 in March 2023). Shubman is the first Indian batter to score a century at No 3 spot for India since Cheteshwar Pujara scored 102 vs Bangladesh in Chattogram. However, Gill is the first to score a ton at the No. 3 spot in India since Pujara’s 143 versus Sri Lanka in Nagpur in 2017. Here’s how social media users reacted to Gill’s century
