Kuldeep Yadav made the Indian record for least ball taken to complete 50 Test wickets as he reached the special landmark on Day 1 of the ongoing India vs England Test at Dharamsala on Thursday. Kuldeep got to the 50-wicket landmark with the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow who was caught behind by Dhruv Jurel. Kuldeep took just 1871 balls to reach the 50-wicket feat, which is the fastest for an Indian in Tests followed by Axar Patel (2205) and Jasprit Bumrah (2520).

Bairstow was Kuldeep’s fourth wicket on the day and he went on to complete a fifer with the LBW dismissal of England captain Ben Stokes which left the visitors reeling at 194/8 at the Tea break after opting to bat first.
Overall, Kuldeep has taken 17 wickets so far in the Test series and was the first Indian to strike on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test. After England openers made a blazing start, scoring 64 for the first wicket, Kuldeep removed Ben Duckett (27) with Shubman Gill taking a catch at cover.

Before the Lunch break, Kuldeep struck again to dismiss Ollie Pope (11) who was stumped by the keeper.
