Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed on Day four of the first Test between India and England in Hyderabad, courtesy an excellent throw from Ben Stokes. India are looking to chase down a target of 231 after England were dismissed for 420 in their second innings. India were 119/6 in the 39th over when Jadeja was dismissed. Joe Root was bowling that over. In the first ball of that over, Root bowled a full toss to Jadeja, who drove towards mid-on. Stokes was stationed there, and his excellent presence of mind was on display as he quickly collected the ball and then threw it towards the stumps at the non-strikers’ end with a sensational reverse flick.
Jadeja, who had top-scored for India with 87 in the first innings, was dismissed for just two runs after he fell short of safety. At the time of writing this report, India were 134/7 with Ravichandran Ashwin and KS Bharat unbeaten.
