India vs England 2nd ODI Highlights: All eyes will be on Virat Kohli as the Rohit Sharma-led Team India will aim to seal the ODI series against England with a game to spare in Cuttack on Sunday. The Men in Blue, without the injured Kohli, had cinched the first ODI by four wickets .
After three-wicket hauls from Ravindra Jadeja and Harshit Rana helped them restrict the visitors to 248, India’s middle-order consisting of Shubman Gill (87), Shreyas Iyer (59) and Axar Patel (52) guided the Men in Blue to a victory with 11.2 overs to spare. Kohli was ruled out of the first ODI due to a knee injury but batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has confirmed that the Delhi cricketer is fit and available for selection.
England will hope that their top-order batters fire on all cylinders. Openers Phil Salt (43) and Ben Duckett (32)had forged a 75-run stand for the first wicket in Nagpur before the former was run-out. Joe Root (19) failed to make much of an impact whereas Harry Brook (0) was dismissed for a three-ball duck.
Skipper Jos Buttler (52) and Jacob Bethell (51) scored fifties before Jofra Archer scored an unbeaten 21 off 18 balls to take England to a respectable total. However, in the end, that did not prove to be enough.
