Shubman Gill’s maiden World Cup fifty From missing the first two matches due to dengue to bringing up his maiden fifty in a winning cause for India. It has been quite an eventful start to the World Cup 2023 for the young opener Shubman Gill. Playing in only his second ODI World Cup match, Gill was relentless in attack as he scored a quick-fire 53 off 55 before getting out to Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 20th over.
Virat Kohli’s 48th ODI hundred The match was finished by the chase master Kohli who brought up his 48th ODI ton and is only behind Sachin Tendulkar by one century now. It was quite an eventful century though. At one point India needed just 26 to win the match and Kohli was on 74. This is when he decided with his batting partner KL Rahul to not take singles anymore. From thereon Kohli relied on double and boundaries to reach his century.
