Suryakumar Yadav struck a second consecutive half-century — which landed him the Player of the Match award later — to help the Men in Blue post 181/8 and cross 120 for the first time in the ongoing tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah then led the way with the ball, returning outstanding figures of 3/7, and was ably supported by Arshdeep Singh (3/36) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/32) as India bowled the Afghans out for 134 in reply.
Next in their list is Bangladesh, whom they face in North Sound, Antigua on Saturday. A victory for the Rohit Sharma-led side on Saturday will not only extend their unbeaten run in the ninth edition of ICC’s showpiece T20 event, it will also help the Indians set one foot in the semi-finals .
India will not confirm their place in the last-four right away, as there still could be a three-way tie between India, Australia and Afghanistan on four points. They will, however, be favourites to do so even if they end up losing their final Super 8s match against the Aussies thanks to their Net Run Rate that is nearly at par with that of the Mitchell Marsh-led side.
