After clinching a historic 2-0 win over Pakistan in a Test series recently, the Bangladesh cricket team will now shift their focus to a two-match Test series against India, starting in Chennai from Thursday (19 September). While facing Rohit Sharma’s India will be a different challenge altogether, the Tigers will enter this series high on confidence and hoping to spring a few surprises.
Having said that, there were quite a few players who stood out in the two-match series against Pakistan, and come the India series, those players could once again make a significant impact.

We take a look at five Bangladesh players who stood out against Pakistan:
Mushfiqur Rahim
When it comes to experience in the current Bangladesh batting lineup, there’s arguably no one better than Mushfiqur Rahim.
He was the man for the biggest occasion in the Test series against Pakistan. Mushfiqur scored a patient knock of 191 off 341 balls in the first innings of the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, helping the visitors script their comeback as they took a 117-run first innings lead.
Litton Das
Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das will be looking to carry on his form with the bat in the Test series against India. Litton scored a half-century in the first Test against Pakistan, and followed it up with a knock of 138 in the second Test.

Shakib Al Hasan
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is always a man with a plan. He needs no introduction and with his aggressive approach, he can take wickets at will, much like how he showed in the second innings of the series-opener in Rawalpindi with figures of 3/44. He finished the series with five wickets in total.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was one of the most clinical players in the Test series against Pakistan. The all-rounder had scores of 77 and 78 with the bat and took 10 wickets across the two matches, including a five-fer in the second Test. The 26 year-old right-arm off-break bowler could definitely pose a threat for India.
Hasan Mahmud
It’s still early days for Hasan Mahmud in Test cricket, but the 24 year-old right-arm medium pacer has showed signs of why he could become the next big thing in Bangladesh cricket. Hasan, who had collected a four-fer on Test debut earlier this year, finished the Pakistan series as the third highest wicket-taker with eight scalps. This includes a five-fer in the second Test, which played a pivotal role in his team’s series win.
