MS Dhoni rolled back the clock at Adelaide as he led India to a series-levelling win over Australia in the second ODI. After losing the first ODI at Sydney, the Adelaide match turned into a must-win affair for India in the three-match series. And while the foundation was laid by Virat Kohli’s 39th ODI century, it was Dhoni who provided the finishing touch with the help of Dinesh Karthik, who smashed 25 off 14 balls. After facing a lot of heat for a snail-paced fifty in India’s 34-run loss at Sydney, Dhoni pulled out some vintage shots from his bag as he scored 55 off 54 balls to lead visitors to a six-wicket win. The match-winning innings must have helped in releasing some pressure off the veteran. However, Dhoni is now in news for an apparent illegal run. A video doing the rounds on Twitter suggests that Dhoni didn’t complete a single during his innings, which went noticed during the game.
Did anyone notice that dhoni actually didn’t complete the run here? pic.twitter.com/F9KjKiFILc

The incident took place in the 45th over and as per the video the former Indian captain appears to have not grounded his bat while completing a single on the last ball of Nathan Lyon’s over. The illegal run, however, would not have made much difference in India’s chase as they finished the match with four balls remaining. The third and final ODI will be played on 18 January at Melbourne. The Social Media was abuzz with the same discussion.
If all are notified that MSD wrongly given LPW(pitching outside leg) in the first odi... But the umpires call is the final decision... If that call will be reversed means we would won the First odi too...

Not a big issue but you can blam to umpires because of they are final person to make a decision.

It seems Dhoni not completing the single was not noted by the umpires and Australian players alike. The debate could have caught more fire had Aussies noticed and ran Dhoni out. It was the 45th over of the innings and India were still 45 runs away from the target.
