The upcoming ODI series between Australia and India will have the feel of the old times as the hosts have decided to wear the green and gold kit from 1980s for the three-match series. The Aussie squad posed for team photos on Thursday in the retro kit, which the Allan Border-led side had donned against India in 1986. Pacer Peter Siddle, who has been recalled to the side despite not playing an ODI in last eight years, is massively excited to play his return match in the classic kit. “It’s pretty awesome actually,” Siddle was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. “We found out the other day we were going to be in it, so the boys were a bit excited to get their pack and open up and check it out. Everyone is very impressed.”

The ODI series begins on 12 January at Sydney followed by the second ODI at Adelaide on 15 January and the final ODI at Melbourne on 18 January. Meanwhile, all-rounder Mitch Marsh has been ruled out of the first ODI with a gastro bug. Ashton Turner has been called-up as a cover. Revised squad: Aaron Finch (c), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Ashton Turner, Marcus Stoinis, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa
