AP[/caption] Kohli posted his 39th ODI century, his 24th in a second innings and his sixth against Australia, to lead a perfectly measured run chase which saw India surpass Australia’s total of 298-9 with four balls to spare. And in the process, the Indian captain added to his burgeoning tally of milestones. Here’s a look at all the numbers from the 2nd ODI at the Adelaide Oval. - Aaron Finch has now been dismissed bowled in five out of his last eight ODI innings. - MS Dhoni has now affected 16 stumpings against Australia which is the joint second-most for him against an opponent in ODIs alongside England. - This was Shaun Marsh’s fifth fifty-plus score in his last eight ODI innings. It was also his fifth fifty-plus score in his last eight ‘second match of an ODI series/tournament’. The 35-year-old became the first Australia batsman to score a century on this tour. It was his seventh ODI ton and the fourth in the last two years - the joint-most by any Australian batsman alongside Aaron Finch. - Mohammed Siraj conceded 76 runs for India on his ODI debut which is the second most by an Indian bowler on ODI debut with Karsan Ghavri holding the record of conceding most runs by an Indian on ODI debut (83 runs against England at Lord’s in 1975). - No player has hit more sixes against a single opponent than Rohit Sharma across formats. He has now hit 89 sixes against Australia. He surpassed Chris Gayle who has hit 88 sixes against England across formats. - Virat Kohli amassed 104 runs at Adelaide Oval. This was his 39th century in ODIs. He has now scored 22 overseas ODI tons which is the second most for any player, eclipsing Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 21 overseas ODI tons. - This was Kohli’s 64th century in international cricket which is the third most for any player, going past Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 63 tons. Only Sachin Tendulkar (100) and Ricky Ponting (71) are ahead of him in the list now. - It was Kohli’s sixth ton against Australia in ODIs which is the joint third most by any player alongside Desmond Haynes. It was his 13th ton against the Aussies in international cricket — the second most for any player, going past Sir Jack Hobbs and Brian Lara’s 12 tons. - Interestingly, Kohli scored his first ton of 2017 and 2018 respectively also on January 15, like on Tuesday (in 2019). - India successfully chased down a target of 299 on Tuesday which is the second highest at Adelaide in ODIs. The highest target successfully chased at Adelaide in ODIs is 303 by Sri Lanka against England in 1999. - The last time before this match when MS Dhoni (101.85) had a 100-plus strike rate while chasing in an ODI match was against Australia at Sydney (100.00) in 2015.
