Team India’s Super 8 campaign of the 2024 T20 World Cup will get underway on Thursday when they take on Asian rivals Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Men in Blue finished the group stage on top of the Group A points table with seven points from four matches, that included three victories and a washed-out contest against Canada.

The Men in Blue will hope Virat Kohli ends his rough patch in the tournament. The former India skipper, who has opened with Rohit in all matches this tournament so far, has accumulated just five runs from three matches at an average of less than two. It will be interesting to see if the team management opts for Yashasvi Jaiswal as an opener, which would move Kohli to No 3 spot.
In the USA, it was the seamers who had a much larger say. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took seven wickets each, whereas Jasprit Bumrah has been lethal with his accuracy and pace, picking five wickets. However, things could change in the Caribbean, with spinners expected to dictate the terms. And that is where the potential inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal could come in.
