India pacer Navdeep Saini marries girlfriend Swati Asthana; See photos

India fast bowler Navdeep Saini has tied the knot with long-time girlfriend Swati Asthana. On Thursday, Saini shared this news on his official Instagram handle.

“Seeking blessings from well-wishers,” Saini said on his post on Instagram:

“With you, everyday is a day of love. Today, we decided on forever. Seeking all your blessings and love as we start a new chapter of our life.”

Rajasthan Royals, the team for which Saini plays in the IPL, too shared the images and extended a warm welcome to Swati into the Royal family.

Saini’s most recent appearance was when he played for Delhi in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). He picked up four wickets across seven games.

Earlier, the fast bowler played a crucial role in the Rest of India (ROI) team’s triumph in the Irani Cup in October. He had a superb IPL 2019 season, but has not been able to nail down a spot in India’s team in any of the formats so far. In the 2023 season with the Rajasthan Royals, he could only pick up three wickets across two matches.

Navdeep Saini’s last appearance in Test cricket for India is perhaps the most unforgettable one for the country. It was that Brisbane Test back on 2021 when a young Indian team defied all expectations and beat all odds to comprehensively beat Australia.

Saini was added to the playing XI for the last two Tests since multiple players were ruled out with injuries. Saini showcased his skills by claiming four wickets on his debut in the drawn third Test at the SCG.

In Brisbane, he was at the non-striker’s end when Rishabh Pant creamed a drive down the ground to give India a historic 2-1 triumph in the Test series.

Saini has so far played two Tests, eight ODIs and 11 T20Is, having picked up 23 wickets across all three formats.

Swati, a fashion, travel, and lifestyle vlogger, runs a YouTube channel aligned with her Instagram account and it has more than 80,000 followers.
