Team India qualified for the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup with a 24-run win over Australia in their Super 8 Group 1 match in St Lucia on Monday. The loss, Australia’s second of the Super 8 stage, also means that they are now heavily dependent on Bangladesh to beat Afghanistan in the final Super 8 match later on Monday (Tuesday morning in India).

Australia won the toss and opted to field first against India. The Aussies got off to a best possible start, with Josh Hazlewood removing Virat Kohli (0) in the second over.
