India A vs UAE Highlights, Emerging Teams Asia Cup: Abhishek Sharma, bowlers power India A to seven-wicket win

Ayush Badoni seals the match for India A againt UAE with a six and a four, helping his team clinch a seven-wicket win in Al Amerat. This is India’s second win of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup as the Boys in Blue remain unbeaten in the tournament with four points. Abhishek Sharma (58) had set the platform in the 108-run chase earlier, but in reality, the bowlers, led by Rasikh Salam (3/15) were the real heroes for India. UAE have been outplayed in all departs, and barring a fifty from Rahul Chopra, there wasn’t much to take away for them.

India A 80/1 after 7.1 overs (Target 108) 

Jawadullah continues. Abhishek Sharma gets a reprieve as Basil Hameed in the deep drops a catch. India keep marching on towards victory. The Boys in Blue need just 28 runs to win and have 78 balls to deal with. Abhishek then gets to his fifty in the next over.

India A 62/1 after 5 overs (Target 108) 

Omid Rahman is into the attack. He is absolutely being punished by the Indian batters. Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma keep finding the boundaries as 15 runs come off it. India A need 46 runs from 90 balls.

India A 74/1 after 6 overs (Target 108) 

An excellent powerplay for India with the bat against UAE. The Boys in Blue have completed more than half of the run-chase, with Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma approaching the opposition ruthlessly.

India A 47/1 after 4 overs (Target 108) 

Muhammad Jawadullah is into the attack. Abhishek Sharma collects a boundary off the last ball of the over, with eight runs coming off it. Despite the boundary, it’s a disciplined effort from Jawadullah.

India A 39/1 after 3 overs (Target 108) 

The dismissal of Prabhsimran Singh hasn’t hurt India’s momentum one bit. Tilak Varma keeps finding the gaps to score respective boundaries, as Omid Rahman is punished. Nine runs off the over.

Nishant Sindhu is back for his third over. A disciplined over from the spinner with seven runs coming off the over, and more importantly, no boundaries. Will India wrap up the UAE innings soon?

UAE 76/5 after 9 overs 

Rasikh Dhar, who had taken three wickets in his first over, goes for a couple of boundaries in his second over. Rahul Chahar continues to be expensive as Basil Hameed and Rahul Chopra collect a maximum each. Sixteen runs come off the over.

UAE 51/5 after 7 overs 

Change of bowling as spin is being introduced by India A. Rahul Chahar, who has played six T20Is and one ODI for India, is into the attack. He is punished for a maximum by UAE skipper Basil Hameed, who clears deep midwicket fence. UAE need more of those if hey are to give the Indian team a difficult time. 11 runs from the over.

UAE 40/5 after 6 overs 

What an excellent first over from Rasikh Dhar Salam as he strikes thrice to remove Nilansh Keswani, Vishnu Sukumaran and Syed Haider. UAE have a big task ahead of them already if they are to post a challenging total.

UAE 25/2 after 4 overs 

Vaibhav Arora is in for his second over. Nilansh Keswani finds the deep midwicket gap to collect a couple of runs. Five runs off the over but no boundaries in that.

UAE 20/2 after 3 overs 

Anshul Kamboj continues. Six runs from his second over, including a boundary towards the backward square leg region for Nilansh Keswani. Nilansh and Rahul have their task cut out after the early blow to UAE.
