The Green Park Stadium in Kanpur has not only implemented strict security measures to prevent any potential protests, but the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has also hired langurs and their handlers to manage the monkeys that could disrupt the experience for fans during the second India-Bangladesh Test. With a lot of monkeys present in the vicinity of the stadium, there’s a threat of them trying to grab food from the fans.

The UPCA, who had earlier hired langurs (long-tailed leaf monkeys) and their trainers in past international matches, have decided to follow the same for the latest match to provide a safe environment to its fans.
‘Terror of monkeys’
“To avoid the terror of monkeys, we have langurs (long-tailed leaf monkeys) to take care of them,” venue director Sanjay Kapoor was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
Another measure taken by the venue authority is covering the back of a few raised stands with a black colour cloth to avoid the menace of the monkeys.
