South Africa overtook England and New Zealand in the latest ICC rankings for Test Teams to take the second spot after registering the 3-0 series sweep over Pakistan. As a result, South Africa earned four points and went ahead of England by two points to the second position in the table. While South Africa now have 110 points, England (108) and New Zealand (107) are third and fourth respectively on the table. England need to win their upcoming three-match series against Windies, starting on 23 January, to stay ahead of the Kiwis. India continue to lead the rankings bolstered with their recent historic Test series win in Australia. Virat Kohli’s side has 116 points. Meanwhile, Pakistan have slipped beneath Sri Lanka to the seventh position after the massive series defeat against the Proteas. They started the series on 92 points but are now down to 88.
